Professor Malcolm N Shaw QC is a practising barrister and Research Professor in International Law at the University of Leicester. He formerly held the Sir Robert Jennings Chair of International Law at Leicester and prior to that was the Founder-Director of the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex. He is a Trustee of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law and a member of the Board of Editors of the British Year Book of International Law. He was also a Visiting Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre in 2000 and 2005 and delivered the Hersch Lauterpacht Memorial Lectures in March 2010. He has written widely on international law, including Title to Territory in Africa 1986, and International Law, 6th ed., 2008. Shaw has appeared professionally before English courts, the European Court of Human Rights and the International Court of Justice.
