Professor Jan Klabbers took up the role of Director of the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law in September 2026 having become the Whewell Professor of International Law in 2025. He is a fellow of Murray Edwards College.
Prof Surabhi Ranganathan is the Deputy Director of the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law and a Professor of International Law at the University of Cambridge.
Prof Ranganathan was awarded the prestigious Max Planck-Humboldt Research Award 2025. The award recognizes her groundbreaking work on ocean governance and the law of the sea, particularly its political challenges.She is a fellow of King's College.
Professors Klabbers and Ranganathan expect to touch on a range of topics and will welcome questions from the audience.
There will be a sandwich lunch at 12.30 pm in the Old Library at the Centre. All lecture attendees welcome.
