Location and travel

Cambridge is situated in the East Anglia region of England, roughly 70 miles (112 km) from Central London.

Transport links are good with regular train, coach and bus services all serving the city. Trains from London King's Cross and from London Liverpool Street take between 50 mins and 1hr 20 mins. A direct train link also operates to Stansted Airport.

There are coach/bus services between various London Airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted) to Cambridge although routes using a combination of train services and the London Underground are also worth considering.

Cambridge Railway Station is situated approximately one mile from the City Centre and about a 30 minutes' walk to the Lauterpacht Centre and Faculty of Law, which lie on the west side of the city. The bus/coach station is located near the City Centre, approximately a 20 minutes' walk from the Centre.

Taxi ranks are located at both the Train and Bus stations as well as in the City Centre.

Parking in and around Cambridge is very limited. General information about parking in Cambridge, including details on restriction, charges and public car parks is available on the Cambridge City Council website.

A Park and Ride service also operates from several sites around the City.  There is non-metered parking on Cranmer Road and on neighbouring Herschel Road but spaces, particularly during the working week, can be hard to come by.

The Lauterpacht Centre has a very limited amount of onsite parking for visitors and staff.  Please telephone the Centre in advance if you require parking assistance.
