This event will feature a presentation of the new Principles on Shared Responsibility in International Law that have been drafted by Prof. André Nollkaemper, Prof. Jean d’Aspremont, Dr Ilias Plakokefalos and Dr Markos Karavias.
These principles substantiate, supplement, and adjust the existing rules on the law of international responsibility, as they are reflected in the Articles on the Responsibility of States for International Wrongful Act, the Articles on the Responsibility of International Organizations as well as in the practice of international and domestic courts and authoritative scholarly opinions.
These principles seek to provide guidance to judges, practitioners and researchers when confronted with legal questions of shared responsibility as they may arise between states, international organizations and, in specific situations, other persons. The presentation of the principles will be followed by a debate.
